Wartburg Sweeps MWLC Weekly Awards

MINNEAPOLIS—Wartburg College's Bri Greiskalns and Alyson Hasner have been named the Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference (MWLC) offensive and defensive players of the week respectively, for events Feb. 14-20, as selected by the league's sports information directors.

Greiskalns (Oakdale, Minn.) led the Knights with four goals and six draw controls in the season opener against William Penn on Friday, Feb. 19.

Hasner (Lakeville, Minn.) made her collegiate debut in goal and made four saves of the 23 shots she faced in the contest against the Statesmen. 

This is the first career MWLC honor for both players and the first player of the week honor for the Knights since Megan Howe (offensive) in 2016 and Laura Sinkovitz (defensive) in 2017.

The MWLC is comprised of NCAA Division III institutions located throughout the Midwest including Augsburg (Minneapolis), Cornell (Mt. Vernon, Iowa), Hamline (St. Paul, Minn.), Lake Forest (Lake Forest, Ill.), Monmouth (Monmouth, Ill.), Northwestern (St. Paul, Minn.), and Wartburg (Waverly, Iowa).
