Graham, Miech earn MWLC weekly awards

MINNEAPOLIS— Lake Forest College's Ali Graham and Cornell College's Hannah Miech were named the Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference (MWLC) offensive and defensive players of the week, respectively, for events April 10-16, as selected by the league's head coaches.

Graham (Junior, New York, N.Y.) scored 10 goals and added two assists in the two MWLC games for the Foresters last week. She added 16 draw controls, nine ground balls, and eight caused turnovers. In Saturday's 13-5 win over Cornell, Graham scored six goals on as many shots on goal. Among all conference players, she is first in points (23), draw controls (30), and caused turnovers (17), and second in goals (18).

Miech (Freshman; Waukesha, Wis.) played all 120 minutes in the net, made 26 saves, and finished the week with a 54.2 save percentage in the two conference games for the Rams. Among all league players, she is first in saves (52), is fourth in save percentage (52.5), and tied for fourth in wins (2).

This is the second career MWLC honor for Graham, but first offensive honor. This is the first career honor for Miech.

The MWLC is comprised of NCAA Division III institutions located throughout the Midwest including Augsburg (Minneapolis), Cornell (Mt. Vernon, Iowa), Hamline (St. Paul, Minn.), Lake Forest (Lake Forest, Ill.), Monmouth (Monmouth, Ill.), Northwestern (St. Paul, Minn.), Saint Benedict (St. Joseph, Minn.), and Wartburg (Waverly, Iowa).
