Smith, Graham earn MLC women’s weekly awards

MINNEAPOLIS— Cornell College's India Smith and Lake Forest College's Ali Graham have been named the Midwest Lacrosse Conference (MLC) women's offensive and defensive players of the week respectively, for events March 18-24 as selected by the league's head coaches

Smith (Treasure Island, Fla.) had 14 goals and three assists over the two wins on the week for the Rams. She added eight draw controls, seven ground balls, and three caused turnovers.

Graham (New York, N.Y.) had 14 draw controls, 10 ground balls, seven caused turnovers over the two victories for the Foresters. She added four goals and three assists.

This is Smith's first offensive career MLC honor and Graham's third defensive career MLC honor.

The MLC is comprised of NCAA Division III institutions located throughout the Midwest including Augsburg (Minneapolis), Cornell (Mt. Vernon, Iowa), Hamline (St. Paul, Minn.), Lake Forest (Lake Forest, Ill.), Northwestern (St. Paul, Minn.), and Saint Benedict (St. Joseph, Minn.).
