Sharp, Miech earn MLC women’s weekly awards

MINNEAPOLIS— Lake Forest College's Emma Sharp and Cornell College's Hannah Miech have been named the Midwest Lacrosse Conference (MLC) women's offensive and defensive players of the week respectively, for events March 25-31 as selected by the league's head coaches.

Sharp (Cumberland, Maine) had five goals and added six assists over the two wins on the week for the Foresters. One of the victories was the MLC opener against Cornell, where she tallied three goals.  

Miech (Waukesha, Wis.) played all 120 minutes in goal for the Rams over the two games on the week. She made 23 saves and earned the win in Wednesday's game against Marian. She leads the MLC in save percentage and goals against average, ranks second in wins and is fourth in total saves. 

This is the first career MLC honor for Sharp and second for Mierch.

The MLC is comprised of NCAA Division III institutions located throughout the Midwest including Augsburg (Minneapolis), Cornell (Mt. Vernon, Iowa), Hamline (St. Paul, Minn.), Lake Forest (Lake Forest, Ill.), Northwestern (St. Paul, Minn.), and Saint Benedict (St. Joseph, Minn.).
