Augsburg College sophomore Helena Nguyen (Maple Grove, Minn./H.S.) set a single-game scoring record in a 19-5 win over Northwestern-St. Paul and has been named the Midwest Women’s Lacrosse Conference Player of the Week on offense.
The sophomore scored six goals, on six shots, with one assist, one ground ball and one caused turnover in the 19-5 non-conference win. Nguyen’s six goals broke the old school record of five, set five different times in the first two seasons of the program.
Augsburg (5-2, 2-1 MWLC) is scheduled to host Hamline, Benedictine and Carthage this week.
