Allison Kurek, Concordia University (Wis.)

Concordia University (Wis.) sophomore Allison Kurek (Chicago, Ill./Nazareth Academy) helped the Falcons soar to three wins last week and has been named the Midwest Women’s Lacrosse Conference Player of the Week on defense for the second time. 

The sophomore finished with two goals, one assist, four ground balls, four draw controls and three caused turnovers in an 11-8 win over Carthage.  Kurek then recorded four goals, seven ground balls, two draw controls and a program-record tying 10 caused turnovers in a 15-5 win over Carroll (Wis.). The Chicago native capped the week with four goals, three assists, a program-record 14 ground balls, a program-record 13 draw controls and three caused turnovers in an 18-0 win over Concordia Chicago. 

For the week, Kurek totaled 10 goals, four assists, 25 ground balls, 19 draw controls and 16 caused turnovers. 

Concordia (8-1, 5-0 MWLC) will host Hamline at Noon Saturday.
