Fontbonne University freshman attacker Brendan Friss (Mooresville, NC/H.S.) led the Griffins to a 1-1 record last week and has been named the Midwest Lacrosse Conference Player of the Week on offense.
The freshman scored seven goals, added an assist, and scooped up 12 ground balls during the week of play. Friss scored three goals with five ground balls in a narrow 9-8 loss to Rockhurst and added four goals, seven ground balls, and an assist in a 13-4 win over Dubuque Sunday.
For the week, Friss averaged 3.5 goals and 6.0 ground balls per game, while leading the Griffins with a .579 shot on goal percentage.
Fontbonne (1-2, 0-0 MLC) is scheduled to face Beloit and Hendrix this week.
