Augsburg College junior Nicole Szczebak (Goodyear, Ariz./Desert Edge) set a school record in a 14-2 win over Carroll (Wis.) Sunday and has been named the Midwest Women’s Lacrosse Conference Player of the Week on defense.
The junior set a single-game school record with 13 ground balls, one goal and two caused turnovers in the Auggies’ 14-2 win over Carroll Sunday. The 13 ground-ball effort is the most by any NCAA Division III women’s player this season and is tied for the 13th most in NCAA Division III history.
In Augsburg’s 9-8 loss at Concordia (Wis.), Szczebak had one ground ball and one caused turnover.
Augsburg (3-1, 1-1 MWLC) will return to action on Saturday, March 19 at Concordia-Chicago.
