AURORA, IL – After winning a fourth-straight regular season title in 2016, Aurora claimed its fourth-consecutive Midwest Lacrosse Conference (MLC) Tournament title with a 13-11 win over Concordia University Wisconsin Saturday.
With the win, the Spartans earned the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Men's Lacrosse Championship. The full field will be announced on Sunday, May 8 at 9PM (EST) via NCAA.com.
The No. 1 seeded Spartans advanced to the title game with a 17-5 victory over fourth-seed Beloit on Wednesday. In the other semifinal match, the Falcons defeated second-seed Benedictine 12-7.
In Saturday's championship, junior attack Jason Koziol (Grayslake, Ill./Central) scored four goals with five assists and one ground ball to lead Aurora. Concordia received five goals and one ground ball from freshman midfielder Stephen Gregory (Louisville, Ky./Male) in the loss.
This was Aurora's five-straight appearance in the tournament final while Concordia made its second-straight appearance in the championship match.
