Concordia University (Wis.) sophomore Allison Kurek (Chicago, Ill./Nazareth) helped the Falcons lock up at least a share of the MWLC title with a pair of wins last week and has been named the Midwest Women’s Lacrosse Conference Player of the Week on defense for the fourth time.
The sophomore had five goals, one assist, five ground balls, four draw controls and three caused turnovers during a 16-4 win at Wartburg and added five goals, one assist, six ground balls and three draw controls in a 21-6 win over Cornell College.
For the week, Kurek totaled 10 goals, two assists, 11 ground balls, seven draw controls and three caused turnovers, while the Falcons defense allowed five goals per contest.
Concordia (12-1, 8-0 MWLC) will close the regular season schedule against Beloit and Colorado College this week.
