Carthage College freshman LSM Jordyn Williams (Laguna Hills, Calif./Aliso Niguel) anchored the Red Men defense in a pair of dominating wins and has been named the Midwest Lacrosse Conference Player of the Week on defense.
The freshman had seven ground balls and four caused turnovers in a 22-3 conference win over Fontbonne and added six ground balls and four caused turnovers in a 19-0 shutout win over Rockhurst.
The Red Men currently lead the MLC in goals allowed, surrendering only 5.8 goals per contest.
Carthage (4-1, 1-0 MLC) will travel to MSOE on Thursday and will return home for a matchup with DePauw Saturday afternoon.
