Benedictine University junior defense Jamic Adkins (Bend, Ore./H.S.) helped the Eagles stretch their win streak to five-straight following two wins last week and has been named the Midwest Lacrosse Conference Player of the Week on defense.
The junior anchored a Benedictine defense that allowed only nine goals in two wins as the Eagles beat Cornell College and Southwestern (TX).
Adkins caused four turnovers and scooped up four ground balls in a 16-4 league win over Cornell and added two caused turnovers and two ground balls in a 13-5 win over Southwestern (TX).
The BenU defense recorded 35 clears in two games and allowed less than 30 shots in each contest.
Benedictine (7-2, 2-0 MLC) will face Concordia (Wis.) and Beloit in conference matches this week.
