Illinois Tech senior midfielder Florencia Carrerou (Montevideo, Uruguay/Colegio Seminario) led the Scarlet Hawks to the program’s first ever win and has been named the Midwest Women’s Lacrosse Conference Player of the Week on offense.
The senior scored four goals with four ground balls, three draw controls, and one caused turnover as Illinois Tech defeated Defiance College 10-9.
Illinois Tech (1-1, 0-0 MWLC) will travel to Illinois Wesleyan on Tuesday and will open MWLC play at Aurora on Saturday.
