Jack Barry, Aurora University

Aurora University senior midfielder Jack Barry (San Diego, Calif./Rancho Bernardo) led the Spartans defense in wins over Carthage and Whittier this past week and has been named the Midwest Lacrosse Conference Player of the Week on defense. 

The senior anchored the defense during a 6-4 win over previously MLC unbeaten Carthage, netting a goal with six ground balls and three caused turnovers.  Barry added two goals, two assists, five ground balls, and two caused turnovers in a 9-4 non-conference win over Whittier College Friday. 

For the week, the defensive midfielder caused five turnovers and picked up 11 ground balls, while scoring three goals with two assists. 

The Aurora defense currently leads the MLC, surrendering only 5.5 goals per contest. 

Aurora (7-3, 4-0 MLC) will play host to Concordia (Wis.) and MSOE in conference play this week.
