Elmhurst College freshman midfielder Drew Wassenaar (Lenoir City, Tenn./Young Harris) scored two game-winning goals last week for the Bluejays and has been named the Midwest Lacrosse Conference Player of the Week on offense.
The freshman scored a game-high three goals with an assist, including the game-winner, while leading Elmhurst to a 7-6 overtime win over Illinois Wesleyan.
Wassenaar followed that effort with an EC single-game record six goals in a thrilling come-from-behind win over Augustana. After the Bluejays scored three goals in 48 seconds to force overtime, Wassenaar blasted home the game-winner in overtime.
Elmhurst (8-8, 5-5 MLC) finished the season tied for sixth in the MLC standings.
