Aurora University senior long stick midfielder Spencer Fuqua (Cypress, Calif./Los Alamitos) led the Spartans defense that allowed only six goals in two MLC games and has been named the Midwest Lacrosse Conference Player of the Week on defense.
In AU’s 13-5 win over Concordia (Wis.), Fuqua scored a goal with 10 ground balls and four caused turnovers. The senior added two goals with four ground balls and five caused turnovers in a 35-1 win over MSOE.
For the week, Fuqua led the Spartans with 14 ground balls and nine caused turnovers as AU took over sole possession of first place in the MLC standings.
Aurora (9-3, 6-0 MLC) is scheduled to host Defiance and Hanover in league play this week.
