Beloit College sophomore goalie Marie Bonine (Stillwater, Minn./H.S.) helped the Bucs lock up the No. 3 seed in the MWLC tournament with a 2-1 conference mark last week and has been named the Midwest Women’s Lacrosse Conference Player of the Week on defense for the second time.
Bonine tallied three ground balls with four saves in a narrow 9-8 loss to Aurora, nine saves in a 12-4 win over Wartburg, and 13 saves and two caused turnovers in a 15-5 win over Cornell College.
For the week, Bonine registered 26 saves and a .591 save percentage to anchor the Bucs defense.
Beloit (8-6, 5-2 MWLC) will close the regular season against Carroll and Augsburg this week.
